Writers, poets and other such creative people require rhyming words every now and often. You think of a word, and a plethora of rhyming words will pop in your minds, and on the internet. But did you know that there are some words, that do not exactly rhyme with other words?

Take a look at this list of the 10 most common words that don’t perfectly rhyme with anything!

words that don't rhyme
via

1. Walrus

This sea animal, unfortunately, doesn’t have any word from the vocabulary that rhymes with it. We believe, that there should be something in the least for those dedicating a text to the creatures of the sea.

2. Orange

Most common, but still makes its way to this list; no matter what you do, until you don’t join two words to make one, orange doesn’t share the same sound with any other words.

3. Husband

We say, try; can you find a word that rhymes with the word husband? There is no perfect rhyme for it!

4. Wolf

No, you cannot rhyme golf with wolf; they do not have the same pronunciation sounds. There’s not many more you can come up with to rhyme.

5. Angel

You might come across such common words like angel, but the moment you turn poetic, nothing would rhyme with it. That is indeed a fact, there isn’t much that perfectly rhymes with this serene word.

6. Silver

This glittery metal/ color, which can be handy for many, doesn’t rhyme with much. Driver? Killer? Filler? No! Just doesn’t sound close to right.

7. Penguin

As cute as they may seem, there isn’t much you can do if you are a fan of rhyming descriptions. Of course, there are words that sound close to this one, but none that can rhyme perfectly.

8. Engine

Yet again, you might be able to make do with some similar-sounding words, but the word also doesn’t have a perfect rhyme.

9. Month

Month, oneth? Doesn’t go, does it? We might think that a basic word as this which one could use probably many times a day could have something to rhyme. But, no!

10. Rythm

This is a tricky one; yet again, you can adjust this word to rhyme with some one or two-syllable words, but, it wouldn’t rhyme with perfection.

11. Woman

You might find this word as quite a surprise, but true it is! The moment you see this word, you will rack your head to come up with a rhyming word, but it wouldn’t be a 100% correct.

12. Bulb

It’s all around us, aiding us with bright lights; and yet, it is a word with no perfectly rhyming word.

13. Angry

A word that can express a million emotions, and yet wouldn’t match perfectly to rhyme. It doesn’t have a triple rhyming word, and therefore, is an intriguing part of this list.

14. Problem

We all have some of it, and yet cannot emote it in writing, for it doesn’t have a perfect word to sound exactly like it.

15. Luggage

You have to carry it, but you cannot rhyme it. It doesn’t have any words that can doubly or triply sound similar, and therefore isn’t a perfect match with other words in this category.
